Rainbow history

Skittles began being produced in 1974 in Europe, within five years they had made their way to the United States by exportation. By 1982 skittles were being made in the United States by Mars candy. Skittles started with five   original flavors which were lemon (yellow), lime (green), orange (orange), strawberry (red), and grape (purple). The purple has always been grape in North America, but blackcurrant flavored everywhere else. In 1989 Skittles introduced two new flavor packs tropical and wild berry. The green skittle was a representation of green apple during a brief period of time in 2001; however, after the promotion it was back to lime. Mars vows that in each bag of skittles there is 20 percent of each color.

Personally I think the green is the worst skittle and should probably return to green apple. The tropical and wild berry flavor packs are also disgusting. I disagree with the 20 percent because I have gotten bags that are loaded with green and I want my $1.09 back. It wasn't until 2000 that Skittles released my favorite flavor pack; Sour skittles. Sour Skittles are the best flavor combination and even the green doesn't taste bad. There is nothing better than eating a pack of skittles and looking at your rainbow colored tongue I suggest you try it. In the future I would like to see a new flavor come aboard; maybe a blue or a black.

Sweet & Salty

Have you ever had the taste for a sweet and salty snack? Try Chicken and Waffles; the combination of hot, fried chicken with a fluffy waffle covered in syrup.  The surprisingly popular combination is thought to have originated in in the 1930′s during the jazz heyday. Jazz musicians would go into restaurants looking for breakfast and dinner or brinner. Chicken and waffles is most commonly thought to be an African American dish. However, do not try the chicken and waffles lays chips because they are disgusting. Go to your nearest soul food restauraunt to try chicken and waffles or IHOP.

How French Are Your Fries?

No one really knows who exactly invented the French fry, but most will agree that the potato began to be cooked after Augustine Parmentier brought it from Africa. There is a huge controversy over who exactly invented the French fry. Northern Belgium and France both claim to be the first to fry the potato. The French claim to have invented the fry around the time period of the French revolution under a bridge on the Seine River, while the people of Belgium claim to have invented it in 1700 in Wallonie. Regardless of who invented the French fry it has become one of the most popular foods.
Fast food restaurants all over the world specialize in fries. McDonald’s and Five Guys are two fast food chains that specialize in fries for example. People eat French fries many different ways. Some people eat fries with just seasoning salt and other people dip their fries in ketchup. I have even seen fries smothered in chili and cheese. There are many different ways to eat fries it’s all about your preference.  I personally just like salt on my fries. If reading this blog has galvanized you here are some things you should try:
1.      Go to your nearest McDonald’s and order fries without salt and then add your own salt.
2.      Go to Five Guys and order fries
3.      Go to Foodlion and buy Ore-Ida microwavable fries
