Have you ever had the taste for a
sweet and salty snack? Try Chicken and Waffles; the combination of hot, fried
chicken with a fluffy waffle covered in syrup. The surprisingly popular combination is
thought to have originated in in the 1930′s during the jazz heyday. Jazz
musicians would go into restaurants looking for breakfast and dinner or
brinner. Chicken and waffles is most commonly thought to be an African American
dish. However, do not try the chicken and waffles lays chips because they are
disgusting. Go to your nearest soul food restauraunt to try chicken and waffles or IHOP.

Why do most people consider chicken and waffles to be an African American dish?
ReplyDeleteWell, the fried chicken was supposedly the ideal meal for slaves and during the jazz age they were combined due to late nights and early mornings in restaurants.
DeleteChicken and Waffles does not seem to be the best combination to my taste buds. Is there a certain reason why you think they go so well together? I know you said it’s a salty and sweet combination, but I don't see where the salty part comes from. But I'll definitely keep my eye out for this combination and try it!
